Eli Manning and BHS Unified Flag Football Team Up @ Met Life Stadium

Section One partnered with the New York Giants and Special Olympics New York to provide an amazing kick off experience for the inaugural Unified Football Teams on September 30th. The event was held at Met Life Stadium, where the athletes were treated to lunch and a tour of the NFL Giant’s locker room before they walked through the historic Player’s Tunnel onto the Met Life field.

The athletes were greeted by Eli Manning; quarterback and two time Super Bowl Winner, Lil’ Jordan Humphrey; wide receiver and Elijah Garcia, defensive end who posed for pictures and ran drills with the players from Brewster High School and other Section One teams.

Coach Donna Schneider who spearheaded the addition of Unified Flag Football at BHS said, “The graciousness and respect was 2-way. The NY Giants are a class act.”

Rob Daly, assistant coach was also on hand to help the students move through the drills designed to build skills, enthusiasm and camaraderie among teams and teammates. Coach Daly said, “The day had so much meaning. Players and partners were able to experience a small part of what the life of a professional athlete is like- on the field, drills and coaching. Eli Manning took the time to throw a pass to each athlete which made for amazing photos and videos.
