Go Bears! Ribbon Cutting for New Turf Field and Track

Go Bears! Ribbon Cutting for New Turf Field and Track

New Athletic Space Part of Brewster Vision Capital Project

What a perfect fall day for Brewster Pride, with homecoming festivities at Brewster High School–pep rally, color guard, marching band, homecoming court, inflatables fun, games–and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new synthetic turf field and track. The new athletic space is part of the Brewster Vision Capital Project.

As the varsity boys soccer team played, members of the District Administration, Board of Education members, Building Administrators, the Varsity Boys Cross Country Team, local leaders including Representative Matthew Slater, County Executive for Putnam County Kevin Byrne, Patterson Councilwoman Mary Smith, and many alumni and community members gathered at the field for the ceremonial ribbon cutting to celebrate Brewster and the official opening of the new track and field.

Superintendent Dr. Michelle Gosh expressed gratitude to the community members who shared in the vision and spent countless hours helping to make the turf field and track a reality.

Board of Education member Cynthia Fox gave special thanks to the Brewster stakeholders for supporting the new field and track that will allow many student-athletes to grow, “both on and off the field.”

After the boys cross country team–who just won the League Championships–cut the Brewster Green ribbon, a collective cheer went out: “Go Bears!”
